The Underwood Law Firm, P.C. is an award-winning law firm that pioneered a growing real estate/ business niche with offices throughout California. In less than 5 years, the firm has grown from a solo practice to a 10 lawyer firm, and is growing again. This is an executive-level position for a professional legal administrator/ COO to oversee everything in the law firm, except the practice of law. Under the direction and supervision of the Firm's Owner/ President, this role has significant discretion and broad responsibility for the management of Firm's business operations and the supervision of non-employees. This includes not only strategic planning, project management, and critical administrative and financial oversight, but also a key leadership role in shaping and sustaining firm culture. Specifically, the right candidate will be excellent at workflow and project management, deeply understand employee engagement, highly skilled at metrics and KPIs, adept at marketing campaigns, and who will be invested in making important contributions to the success of the Firm. Responsibilities The Administrator manages the operations and business functions of the Firm. The Administrator must also work closely with the Managing Attorney, CFO, Marketing Director and fractional/vendor advisors. The Administrator is responsible to lead, manage, supervise, coach, and train the other managers as well as the non-attorney staff, ensuring that they perform to expectations, including hiring/ firing, supervision, and discipline. The Administrator is authorized to make purchases and commitments on behalf of the Firm to the extent permitted by the policies, procedures, and internal control documents. The Administrator’s roles encompasses: (1) Leadership and Strategic Planning; (2) Administration of Key Business Systems; (3) Finance & Accounting; (4) Human Resources Management; (5) Marketing and Sales; (6) Factory and Production; (7) Physical Plant. Qualifications The Administrator must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience. The Administrator will have significant supervisory experience and experience working in a professional services firm. Experience in law firm budgeting, bookkeeping, and human resources is highly preferred. It is essential for the Administrator to be “in the know” about technology and profitability trends to ensure the Firm is maximizing technology and resource developments to increase capacity and efficiency.
