Key Accounts Manager

THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION The Key Accounts Manager plays a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with significant clients, ensuring client satisfaction with excellent communication skills while identifying new opportunities to increase sales. Initiates and/or implements corrective actions as needed in order to ensure that an excellent standard of service is maintained. First point of customer contact for sales inquiries, product knowledge, pricing and logistics questions. The Key Accounts Manager is organized, detail oriented, extremely thorough, and task oriented. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: - Manage key accounts portfolio, as assigned. - Informs customers of new and existing product details regarding pricing, shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any additional information as needed. - Continually updates knowledge of all product lines. - Receives, processes and verifies the accuracy of orders from customers utilizing the company’s ERP & EDI system and customer purchase orders. - Frequently communicates with customers via telephone and email as well as in person to understand their needs. - Initiates required action for response to customer requests for order changes and communicates changes to the appropriate personnel and/or departments. - Receives and manages customer complaints and provides corrective actions during the resolution process. - Monitor sales performance metrics and collect and analyze sales data and trends. - Prepare weekly reports and forecasts. - Maintains customer account information and contact lists. - Proactively and consistently monitors orders in the system for any delays and unforeseen fulfillment issues. - Communicates with Production, Scheduling, Shipping and Warehouse to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments. - Responsible for actively ensuring the retention of the company’s B2B accounts which includes promoting the organization via marketing, advertising, and merchandising initiatives. - Provides back-up support to other group members in the performance of job duties as required. - Adheres to all corporate policies and guidelines and recommends to senior management adoption and/or changes to policies and guidelines to reflect circumstances within the sales arena. - Ensure brand consistency. - Domestic travel as required to foster key account relationships as well as to assist with the company’s strategies and goals.  Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements: - Proven work and sales experience in B2B environment. - Hands on experience with CRM software and account management systems. - Strong organization skills and attention to details. - Ability to perform and manage tasks in a fast paced environment. - Understanding of sales performance metrics. - An ability to address customer requests in a timely manner. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong client relationships. - Understand sales process and have ability to up sell. - Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products (word, excel, etc.). Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: - Associate’s degree in business or other related field preferred; can be offset by relevant experience. - 2 years’ experience in sales and/or key account management. The applicant must be authorized to receive Technical Data and/or Technology under U.S. export control laws.
