Job Title Enterprise Applications Architect M&A Carve-Outs & Separations Number of Positions 3 4 Client Birlasoft Engagement Type C2C / Subcontract Duration 3 4 months (extendable / potential long-term) Location US-based candidates only Preferred time zones: EST / CST Role Overview The Enterprise Applications Architect will lead the architecture, design, and execution of enterprise application carve-outs, cloning, and separations in support of M&A transactions. This role requires deep hands-on application architecture expertise combined with strong leadership to deliver Day-1 readiness, support TSA exit, and ensure post-close stabilization under aggressive timelines. The environment is fast-paced, deal-driven, and multi-vendor, requiring strong decision-making, risk management, and stakeholder communication skills. Key Responsibilities Application Architecture & M&A Delivery • Lead application carve-out, cloning, and lift-and-shift strategies across complex enterprise application portfolios • Define target-state application and data architectures aligned with deal timelines and TSA exit objectives • Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, risk, cost, and long-term scalability • Identify and remediate application, data, and integration dependencies impacted by separations Integration & Data Architecture • Design and govern interfaces, middleware, APIs, and batch integrations • Define data separation, migration, reconciliation, and validation approaches • Ensure architectural consistency across production and non-production environments Program & Vendor Leadership • Provide architectural oversight to system integrators and software vendors • Review and approve solution designs, migration approaches, and cutover plans • Proactively identify execution, integration, and cutover risks and mitigation strategies • Advise program leadership on technical trade-offs, sequencing, and dependencies Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution • Partner closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, IAM, and network teams • Translate business separation requirements into actionable technical architectures • Support end-to-end testing strategies, test case development, and validation • Lead cutover planning, go-live execution, and hypercare support Required Experience & Skills • 8+ years of overall IT experience • 5+ years of enterprise applications architecture and delivery experience • Hands-on experience with COTS application deployment, cloning, and integration • Strong expertise in application separation, cloning, and lift-and-shift migrations • Deep understanding of enterprise data and integration architectures • Experience managing and governing multi-vendor delivery models • Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-pressure M&A environments • Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred Experience • Direct experience with M&A carve-outs, divestitures, or acquisitions • Cloud and hybrid architecture experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) • Exposure to Day-1 readiness, TSA management, and post-close stabilization
