The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) is seeking an Events Assistant to support their regional fundraising efforts. The role involves planning and coordinating fundraising events, managing supporter communication, and maintaining accurate data to ensure successful engagement with volunteers and stakeholders. Responsibilities - Input, maintain and update supporter and campaign data using CRM and finance systems - Support the smooth administration of fundraising events, including income batching, campaign updates and expenses processing - Respond to enquiries and act as a key contact for supporters and volunteers across the region - Help plan, organise and deliver regional fundraising and engagement events - Provide guidance and practical support to volunteer fundraisers and local networks - Advertise future events online and make effective use of digital tools and fundraising platforms - Maintain fundraising materials, merchandise and stock levels for regional activities - Attend briefings, presentations and external events to represent the organisation when required Skills - Ability to be flexible with working patterns, including occasional out-of-hours and weekend working - A full driving licence is essential - Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team - Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills - Literate, numerate and experienced in good office practice - Well organised with the ability to manage varied tasks and priorities - A strong empathy with the organisation's cause and beneficiaries - IT literate with an understanding of social media tools - Previous experience with a fundraising CRM system would be advantageous - An understanding of the British Army and the charity sector would be beneficial Benefits - 30 days’ holidays, plus bank holidays - Flexible and hybrid working (minimum two days per week in the office) - Employee wellbeing and assistance programme (EAP) - Annual Health Assessments via Healthshield - Time off in lieu for volunteering at company events (TOIL) - Perkbox benefits portal, offering a range of retail discounts, online perks and wealth of health and fitness resources (monthly points to use on the platform) - Pension scheme, with matched employer contributions up to 8% – after successful probation - Income Protection – 55% of salary – after successful probation - Death in Service – 3x annual salary – after successful probation - Annual pay reviews - Annual leave purchase scheme Company Overview - Guardian Jobs brings you quality jobs from the best recruiters in the UK and beyond.
