The Network & Acquirer Solutions team (NAS) is the heart of the American Express Enterprise, powering billions of transactions through the global payments processing network that we develop and manage. NAS is unique within the Enterprise. We work across almost every American Express business unit as well as external partners, providers, and key industry stakeholders. Product and Partner Enablement (PPE) is part of American Express Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS). The team is primarily responsible for customer setups on American Express internal systems, establishing connectivity (iVPN, MPLS/Ethernet and other forms of connectivity) between customers and the American Express network, certification (host authorizations, submissions, product, terminal, etc.). Our main customers are merchants, processors, network issuers and acquirers. The mission of PPE is to ensure our business partners can successfully transact with the American Express Network according to American Express specifications, rules, and regulations. How will you make an impact in this role? PPE connectivity analysts are responsible for leading the connectivity efforts that help ensure customers can successfully connect to and complete transactions on the American Express Network. The successful candidates will be responsible for building relationships with internal and external customers, managing connectivity projects (this includes supporting network connectivity, facilitating the implementation of customers and solutions in production that enable card acceptance), and representing PPE in a professional manner to all customers (internal and external). Responsibilities • PPE connectivity analysts are responsible for leading the connectivity efforts that help ensure customers can successfully connect to and complete transactions on the American Express Network. • The successful candidates will be responsible for building relationships with internal and external customers, managing connectivity projects (this includes supporting network connectivity, facilitating the implementation of customers and solutions in production that enable card acceptance), and representing PPE in a professional manner to all customers (internal and external). Requirements • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with various business units. • Knowledge of connectivity (IPs, iVPN, MPLS/Ethernet). • Possess excellent customer service skills. • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written). • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to successfully manage 20-30 projects simultaneously. • Excellent problem-solving skills. • Ability to translate technical details to non-technical business partners. • Strong attention to detail. • Ability to effectively manage escalations. • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage the completion of tasks. • Strong will to win and able to work as part of a team. • Strong work ethic with a fun and positive attitude. Nice-to-haves • Knowledge of the payments industry and emerging technology preferred. • Familiarity with authorization, financial, and non-financial message file formats desired. • Familiarity with the American Express payment platforms and processes a plus.
