Associate Content Editor
Remote – Must Reside in Kansas City Metro
Starting at $22/hour Contract (6 months with strong extension potential)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm CST with occasional evening/weekend reviews (advance notice provided)
We are partnering with a growing eLearning organization that supports healthcare education and certification programs. Their team is expanding and looking for detail-oriented editors and content specialists in the Kansas City area who enjoy working with large volumes of curriculum content, assessments, and data.
This is a fully remote role, but we are prioritizing KC-based professionals to build a stronger local content network for long-term opportunities.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll partner with curriculum developers, subject-matter experts, and project teams to review, edit, and maintain assessment content used in professional education programs. This role blends copyediting, proofreading, content QA, and structured data work.
• Edit and proofread assessment questions, curriculum content, and supporting materials for clarity, grammar, tone, and accuracy
• Ensure consistency with style guides and company standards across large volumes of content
• Update and manage content in internal databases and content systems
• Lead review meetings with subject-matter experts and capture edits and feedback
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including psychometrics, media development, and project management
• Support testing and release of new assessments in production environments
• Identify errors, inconsistencies, or gaps in content and recommend improvements
This role is not creative copywriting, but it does require strong editorial judgment, critical thinking, and comfort working with structured content and tight quality standards.
Must-Have Experience
• Professional experience in copyediting, proofreading, curriculum editing, technical writing, or content QA
• Strong grammar and written communication skills
• Comfortable editing large volumes of content and tracking revisions
• Experience working with Excel or content databases
• Detail-oriented and organized with ability to work independently
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
Nice-to-Have
• Background in education, eLearning, publishing, or curriculum development
• Teaching or tutoring experience
• Experience with test development or certification programs
• Bachelor’s degree
• At least one year of professional editing experience
