The California Department of Developmental Services is the agency providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Analyst II will perform a variety of analytical tasks related to Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, including coordination of public meetings and support for federal compliance reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of analytical tasks related to Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), also known as Early Start in California such as coordination of public meetings governed by the Bagley Keene Act; our community and community engagement; delivery of personnel development activities throughout California; the coordination and monitoring of statewide initiatives and outcomes for identifying, locating, and evaluating all infants and toddlers with disabilities ages birth through age two and contract development and management
- Work closely with program management, subject-matter experts, the California Department of Education (CDE), family resource centers (FRCs), local educational agencies (LEAs), regional centers (RCs), and other community to facilitate communication, consultation, and the development of specific resources to support families in the Early Start program
- Support the completion of projects to ensure that federal compliance reporting requirements are met, provide technical assistance to a variety of our community
Skills
- Candidates must be residents of the State of California at the time of appointment
- This position requires lawful authorization to work in the United States
- The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be numbered in the same order as the following areas, typed in 12-point Arial font, single spaced, and be no more than two pages in length

- Knowledge of: The Lanterman Act, The Bagley Keene Act, Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), also known as Early Start in California; Part B of IDEA, also known as Special Education; the California Early Intervention Services Act; and the developmental services system
- Experience working with people in a teamwork environment

- Ability to develop tools to track and maintain data for a variety of state and federal reporting
