This internship will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of arenaflex Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) practices and the opportunity to contribute to creating and maintaining a safe workplace within our Network Distribution Centers. Job Summary As a Workplace Health and Safety Specialist Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in safety-related projects and WHS organizational learning initiatives. You will work alongside various safety leaders and stakeholders to identify compliance issues, recognize opportunities for safety enhancements, and implement safety improvements at your assigned site. Upon completing your internship, you will be required to present a safety research paper and share the findings of your project with the leadership team, demonstrating your understanding of safety principles and showcasing your valuable contributions to promoting a culture of safety within arenaflex. Key Responsibilities - Work with various Workplace Health and Safety Teams and other WHS interns on a safety-related project - Research, interpret, and share data to support a safety-related recommendation as part of your final project - Assist in designing, building, improving, and innovating order fulfillment safety programs, projects, initiatives, and other elements of the Workplaces Health & Safety organization across the three lanes (first mile, middle mile, and last mile) of arenaflex's fulfillment infrastructure - Learn about and work with other functional teams (Operations, RME (Reliability Maintenance & Engineering), Central Teams, Human Resources, Transportation Operations, and others) in the planning and execution of your assigned project - Develop and expand your professional network by participating in WHS Intern activities and events Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree with an expected completion date between December 2025 and August 2026. You should also be willing and able to work any shift that may include overnights and holidays, wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, stand/walk for up to 40 hours per week, and lift and move items up to 49 pounds. Preferred Qualifications We prefer candidates who are working towards a degree in Health Science, Safety Engineering, Health & Safety, Safety Management, or a related field. You should also have strong communication skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office products, and have strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability. Previous experience in safety-related employment, exposure to Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing efforts, transportation/logistics, and/or fulfillment/distribution centers is also desirable. You should also be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $20.39/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $24.93/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. arenaflex is a total compensation company, and dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
