Job Title: Virtualization Architect Location: Remote (US) Duration: Long Term Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Virtualization Architect to design, implement, and manage enterprise virtualization infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable, high-availability virtual environments and leading virtualization strategy across data centers and cloud platforms. This role requires deep expertise in virtualization technologies, storage, networking, and infrastructure automation. Key Responsibilities • Design and architect enterprise virtualization platforms to support business-critical applications. • Lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of virtualization environments. • Manage virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper V, and KVM. • Architect solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity. • Implement and maintain virtual networking, storage virtualization, and compute optimization. • Work with infrastructure teams to design scalable data center virtualization strategies. • Plan and execute server consolidation and migration projects. • Integrate virtualization solutions with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services. • Ensure performance monitoring, capacity planning, and system optimization. • Maintain security and compliance across virtual environments. • Create architecture documentation, standards, and operational procedures. • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to infrastructure engineers. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. • 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience with at least 4+ years in virtualization architecture. • Strong experience with VMware ecosystem including VMware ESXi and VMware vCenter. • Experience with hypervisor technologies and virtual machine lifecycle management. • Knowledge of SAN, NAS, and software-defined storage solutions. • Experience with network virtualization and SDN concepts. • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and server hardware. • Experience with automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash). • Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Preferred Qualifications • Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), or cloud certifications. • Experience with container platforms like Kubernetes and Docker. • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks. • Knowledge of hybrid cloud architecture.
