Zenith Insurance Company is a team of Workers' Compensation Specialists committed to helping businesses succeed. They are seeking an Underwriter Trainee who will learn about underwriting and pricing business while providing support to agency visits and customer interactions.
Responsibilities
- Solicit, underwrite, and price business consistent with the Company’s Underwriting Philosophy
- Learn customer facing skills
- Expected to provide general guidance and direction to support personnel
- Participates in visits to agencies and/or clients
- Work requires independence within assigned, but restrictive, Letter of Authority; however it is expected that one will seek guidance on any unusual or complex exposures, problems or issues
- Applies principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Work productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis
- Respond positively to direction and feedback on performance
- Consistently maintain professional and appropriate demeanor
- Perform other duties/projects as assigned
- Work with Internal Audit on risk assessments completed on user provisioning, and quality output
Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Combined experience investigating Workers compensation Insurance claims
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong math and reading skills
- Computer literacy
- Valid Driver License in good standing
- Overnight Travel Required
- Previous workers' compensation experience helpful
