Texas-Licensed Attorney Needed URGENTLY: Defend Contract Lawsuit in Collin County

Apply Now
URGENT - Answer Deadline: March 2-3, 2026 We need a Texas-barred attorney to defend a contract lawsuit filed in the 493rd Judicial District Court, Collin County, Texas (McKinney). THE SITUATION: We are being sued by an IT staffing company (based in New Jersey) claiming $24,000 in "training and placement fees." The company never provided any training. They only rewrote her resume and marketed her profile, which is worth $1,000-$1,500 at market rates. She found and paid for her own training independently and has receipts to prove it. The company is based in New Jersey but sued in Texas where my wife lives. WHAT WE NEED: 1. File a Special Appearance challenging jurisdiction (NJ company suing in TX) 2. Draft and file an Answer with affirmative defenses 3. File counterclaims for breach of contract, fraud, and consumer protection violations (DTPA) 4. Represent defendant through resolution of the case WHY THIS IS A STRONG CASE: - Strong counterclaim potential with possible treble damages under Texas DTPA - Clear evidence the plaintiff misrepresented services provided - Defendant has receipts proving she paid for her own training independently - Jurisdictional challenge is viable since plaintiff is a NJ-based company REQUIREMENTS: - Must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas - Experience in civil litigation, commercial litigation, or contract defense - Familiarity with Collin County courts preferred - Ability to begin work immediately given the March 2-3 answer deadline COMPENSATION: Open to contingency, flat fee, or reasonable hourly rate. Please include your proposed fee structure in your proposal. This is extremely time-sensitive. We need someone who can take this on within the next few days.
