Telemetry Nurse (RN) in Arlington, VA

A specialized nursing opportunity awaits in Arlington, VA, supporting an intermediate care unit dedicated to pulmonary, cardiac, and trauma patients. This float position requires a highly skilled registered nurse capable of providing advanced care across several high-acuity areas including cardiac telemetry, intermediate care, medical-surgical units, and stepdown units. Candidates must hold an active Virginia or Compact nursing license at the time of application and possess certifications in ACLS and BLS. This contract role offers a schedule of three 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00) every other week (EOW) with no mandatory call shifts. Key Qualifications: • Active Virginia or Compact RN license at submission • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred • Experience in cardiac telemetry and management of dysrhythmias • Previous work in PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown units • Proficient in rapid response team protocols • Ability to manage cardiac drips and heparin protocols including titration • Central line and PICC line care experience • Preferred: experience with traumatic brain injuries, peripheral nerve block catheters, surgical drains, wound care, and wound vac Core Responsibilities: • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex cardiac, pulmonary, and trauma diagnoses • Monitor telemetry and manage acute cardiac events including pre/post cardiac catheterization care • Administer and titrate continuous or oral cardiac medications and manage advanced airway devices including ventilators and tracheostomies • Provide care for patients with isolation precautions and coordinate with interdisciplinary rapid response teams • Float between designated clinical units as required Location Highlights: Arlington, VA, offers a vibrant urban setting with rich historical landmarks, diverse dining, and cultural activities.
