The Pharmacist Supervisor will supervise and lead pharmacists in delivery of quality Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services. The Pharmacist Supervisor will support Clinical Services by ensuring direct reports meet operational goals and performance and quality expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee day to day clinical call center operations to support clinical associates and to meet performance goals and business objectives, including:
Supporting, monitoring, and optimizing Clinical Pharmacist performance through analysis of current productivity, processes, capacity, and resources.
Communicating with Clinical Pharmacists and responding as needs or questions arise.
Real-time monitoring of pharmacists’ activity.
Aid in quality audits, grievances, application issues and triage technology business application issues, as needed
Lead and develop clinical pharmacists (and other clinical associates when needed) through coaching and identification and or provision of educational resources
Collect, monitor, analyze, and report on operations metrics
Assist with the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and rubrics.
Participate in the selection and hiring of clinical associates and their orientation and training, as needed.
Conduct performance appraisals, as well as goal setting and development conversations. Manage performance concerns as needed.
Ensure, with support of Outcomes Quality Assurance and Compliance, services are delivered in compliance with all regulatory requirements and clinical associates operate within guidelines and meet regulatory and state board licensure requirements
Regularly evaluate performance of assigned personnel.
Monitor recorded calls and coach for efficiency and improvements, when needed.
Collaborate with Outcomes Quality Assurance to ensure quality expectations are met.
Ensure pharmacist competency via training, competency assessments, and other means, if necessary
Review and approve payroll. Monitor attendance. Manage employee leaves of absence, FMLA, call offs, etc. Coordinate with workforce management regarding associate time-off, creation of associates schedules, staffing requirements, etc.
Create agendas, facilitate, and lead team meetings.
Support Outcomes business objectives such as clinical workflow design and management, clinical content review, testing, new project and workflow innovation and support, etc.
Perform the essential functions of a Clinical MTM Pharmacist as outlined in job description (up to 20% if needed)
Participate in Clinical Services’ strategic plan development and execution of assigned goals.

QualificationsKNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS
Required:

Strong clinical therapeutic skills and demonstration of knowledge of appropriate medication dosing in geriatric and adult populations
Knowledge and understanding of the 5 Core Elements of MTM Services, CMS guidelines, and quality measures
Robust clinical knowledge and familiarity with key medication-related problems that contribute to poor health outcomes
Proficient in Microsoft office suite, emphasis Excel
Preferred:
Strong understanding of HIPAA, TCPA, and compliance measures related to the delivery of clinical telephonic services
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum years of work experience: 5 years
Minimum level of education or education or experience: Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from a college accredited by ACPE or graduate of a foreign college
Required
At least 1 year of experience meeting or exceeding expectations as a Clinical Pharmacist
Current, active license to practice pharmacy in home state
Ability to acquire pharmacist licensure in multiple states, if requested
Prior clinical pharmacy experience in ambulatory or outpatient/retail setting
Completion of an MTM certificate course
Preferred
Leadership experience (indirect or direct)
Experience leading or managing remote pharmacy teams
Board Certification in Ambulatory Care, Geriatrics, Pharmacotherapy, Medication Therapy Management, or other Board Certification provided through American College of Clinical Pharmacy
Completion of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency and/or fellowship
Experience in project or product management, compliance, and / or teaching
