The Patient Access Scheduler will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, verifying demographic and insurance information, and providing compassionate service to patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments for various services, including diagnostic, surgical, and therapy visits
- Obtain and verify necessary demographic and insurance information from patients
- Register patients and accurately enter data into the scheduling system
- Meet individual quality metrics in a call center environment
- Provide professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients and their families
Skills
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED
- Less than 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA and Medicare coverage structure
- Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
- Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR systems
- Accurate typing skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole
