Position Summary
The Full-Time Remote Pediatric Nurse Practitioner provides clinical oversight, medical decision-making, and patient care support for a mobile urgent care service delivering in-home pediatric care. This role functions entirely remotely, supporting on-site mobile clinical teams through telehealth, chart review, clinical consultation, and care coordination. The Nurse Practitioner ensures high-quality, timely, and safe pediatric urgent care while maintaining compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Telehealth Support
• Provide remote pediatric clinical evaluation, consultation, and medical decision-making via telehealth platforms.
• Support mobile urgent care clinicians with real-time guidance on assessment, diagnosis, treatment plans, and escalation of care.
• Perform remote patient evaluations when required, including history review and symptom assessment.
• Prescribe medications, order diagnostics, and provide treatment recommendations within scope of practice and state regulations.
• Review and interpret diagnostic results (labs, imaging) and advise on next steps.
Clinical Oversight & Quality Support
• Review and co-sign patient charts, documentation, and clinical notes as required.
• Ensure clinical care aligns with pediatric standards, urgent care protocols, and organizational policies.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, peer review, and clinical audits.
• Assist with protocol development, updates, and clinical best practices.
Care Coordination & Communication
• Communicate effectively with mobile care teams, caregivers, and clinic leadership.
• Provide clear, family-centered medical guidance and follow-up instructions.
• Support escalation decisions, including emergency referrals or hospital transfers when clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with Operations and Clinical leadership to support efficient care delivery.
Schedule & Work Structure
• Full-time, remote position.
• Flexible hours based on service demand, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Must be available for scheduled shifts and on-call support as assigned.
Qualifications
• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the applicable state.
• National NP certification (PNP, FNP with pediatric experience, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years pediatric clinical experience preferred.
• Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or telehealth strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric urgent care protocols and standards.
• Comfort providing remote clinical support and decision-making.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records and telehealth platforms.
• Current CPR/BLS certification; PALS preferred.
