The Analyst in the Loan Capital Markets Department will support senior Marketing Officers in various responsibilities including underwriting, due diligence, and preparation of marketing materials for Loan Capital Markets transactions in the Americas. Responsibilities - Assembling powerpoint/pitches and underwriting memos - Completion of due diligence, comps, financial modeling - Preparation of marketing and syndication material - Legal documentation review and internal credit approval work - Supporting the senior Marketing Officers in Loan Capital Markets with research, analytics, inputs for pitches and underwriting memos - Maintaining and providing regular input to Comparables Database - Preparing marketing materials such as pitches, Confidential Information Memorandums and Lender Presentations - Drafting underwriting memos and presenting to the department's management - Reviewing market updates to ensure quality of information - Keeping close collaboration with the credit and client coverage teams during the structuring and primary syndication process - Managing the process for investor meetings to ensure flawless execution Skills - 1-2 years prior experience at a major financial institution (preference from a loan capital markets role but not required) - Strong analytical and presentation skills and experience supporting syndicated transactions - Strong understanding of the syndicated loan business, including an understanding of credit agreements, deal structures, loan funding mechanics, etc - Strong financial statement, cash flow and credit analysis, corporate finance and financial accounting skills - Able to learn SMBC bank systems quickly and experience with industry standard banking systems - Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills while balancing workload and prioritizing effectively to complete work accurately and in a timely manner against strict deadlines - Good interpersonal skills and ability to manage internal and external customer relationships and work comfortably with senior members of the team - Highly collaborative and flexible in a team and client environment; shares information with team pro-actively and coordinates and communicates effectively with various internal departments across the bank group - Excellent writing skills to clearly articulate information in pitch materials and underwriting - Self-driven and motivated; takes personal ownership of specific assignments - MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint required; familiar with Debt Domain, Intralinks, Syndtrack, LCD, Loan Connector, Bloomberg, Capital IQ - Spanish language skills Benefits - Annual discretionary incentive award - A competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees Company Overview - SMBC Group is a top-tier global financial group.
