U.S. Bank is committed to helping customers and businesses make smarter financial decisions. The International Banking Operations Associate supports the processing of Global Trade & Standby Services and Foreign Exchange banking products, acting as a key intermediary in global trade transactions.
Responsibilities
- Process and support Global Trade & Standby Services (GTSS) and Foreign Exchange (FX) transactions across the full transaction lifecycle, including trade documents, payments, settlements, and investigations
- Review, examine, and reconcile trade and FX documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual terms, internal policies, regulatory requirements, and service‑level agreements
- Act as a primary liaison between internal partners, external clients, and correspondent banks to facilitate timely and accurate processing of global trade transactions
- Communicate clearly and professionally via email (primary) and phone to resolve inquiries, clarify documentation requirements, and address transaction issues
- Identify discrepancies or risks, escalate issues appropriately, and support timely resolution to minimize customer and operational impact
- Maintain strong productivity, quality, and accuracy standards in a high‑volume, detail‑driven operations environment
- Contribute to continuous process improvement while upholding the highest standards of customer service and operational integrity
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of relevant work experience
- Prior experience with import/export trade products or international payments
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to manage sensitive or time‑critical transactions
- Highly motivated, proactive, and self‑driven; able to manage workload independently
- Comfortable collaborating with internal teams and external banking partners across different time zones
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple transactions simultaneously
