Agriculture Market Lead - Grain & Barge Logistics (Remote)

This is not a traditional trading role. It is a senior, customer-facing position centered on credibility, industry expertise, and real-world experience. You will work directly with grain cooperatives, traders, and agribusiness operators, helping them understand how the platform fits into their existing workflows by drawing on firsthand knowledge of how grain moves, trades, and changes ownership along the river system. In this role, you will help customers quickly recognize the value of the platform, build trust through shared experience, and accelerate commercial conversations by clearly connecting the product to problems they already face. Key Responsibilities Market and Customer Leadership: • Serve as the primary subject-matter expert for grain markets and agricultural barge logistics • Engage directly with grain cooperatives, traders, and agribusiness leaders • Translate real-world grain trading and transportation challenges into clear, relatable customer narratives • Support sales conversations by validating operational and commercial value from an industry perspective Industry Storytelling and Deal Acceleration: • Communicate an authentic “I’ve been in your seat” perspective based on lived experience • Explain how grain ownership, contracts, pricing, and logistics evolve as cargo moves downriver • Participate in customer meetings, demos, and strategic discussions as needed • Product and Strategy Input • Advise internal teams on how grain trading workflows intersect with barge operations • Provide practical feedback on product features relevant to agriculture use cases • Help prioritize agriculture-specific product enhancements based on real trading and logistics realities Internal Enablement: • Educate sales, leadership, and product teams on grain markets and inland waterways dynamics • Contribute to agriculture-focused go-to-market messaging and positioning Ideal Background Required Experience: • 5+ years of experience in grain trading, commodity trading, or agribusiness logistics • Direct experience with barge-based grain transportation on U.S. inland waterways • Strong understanding of how grain ownership, contracts, and pricing change while in transit • Established credibility and professional network within the agriculture industry Strongly Preferred: • Experience trading or managing barge freight directly • Background working with grain cooperatives, large agribusinesses, or multinational trading firms • Experience collaborating closely with operations, logistics, or transportation teams • Comfort working with modern SaaS or technology-enabled platforms, with no technical or coding requirements PLEASE APPLY AT: https://app.planetarytalent.com/apply?role=cf58dd80-183d-4ab6-bbca-8ef50853df86 Pay: $150,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Vision insurance Application Question(s): • Are you comfortable meeting new people?
