As a Data Entry Specialist, you'll be part of our Details and Data Gathering team, which is responsible for producing and maintaining accurate sports data across all our platforms.
**Job Summary**
As a Data Entry Specialist, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our sports data, which is used to power our digital and television products. You'll work closely with our production team to deliver high-quality data that meets our audience's needs. This is a part-time opportunity that requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Ensure sports data disseminated by Details and Data is accurate, timely, and insightful
* Work in individual settings and in groups to deliver accurate detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power a multitude of arenaflex products and productions
* Create and maintain a working knowledge of Details and Data's role in fueling arenaflex digital products and television productions
* Review the results of one's own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high level of quality
* Contribute to production, projects, and initiatives across the newsroom, and assist newsroom leaders who are coordinating full- and part-time staff
* Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and propose possible solutions. Communicate rapidly and clearly with colleagues on these issues
* Play a proactive role in working with colleagues in creating or refining production processes
* Be an active member in team and division meetings
* Seek and respond to feedback on private performance
* Remain informed about current office policies and procedures
**Required Capabilities**
* Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of the games
* Full-time availability, which will include evenings (only), weekends, and holidays
* Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that drives arenaflex digital and television products
* Ability to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances
* Ability to communicate confidently - verbally and in writing - to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often through the din of a busy newsroom
**Preferred Capabilities**
* 1+ years' experience working in sports or possibly data, ideally in media
* Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes
* Working knowledge of arenaflex products and productions
* Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools
* Experience leading or training a team
* Ability to speak and write Spanish
* Experience involving social media in a business or news environment
**Required Education**
* High school diploma or equivalent
**Preferred Education**
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
* Additional Information: (e.g. physical requirements, shift, weekend shifts, etc.)
* Position fills in for late shifts (only), weekends, and holidays
