As a Customer Service Benefit Advocate, you'll play a critical role in helping our customers navigate the complexities of healthcare benefits, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support. **About the Role** As a Customer Service Benefit Advocate, you'll be responsible for responding to and resolving customer service inquiries and issues on the first call. You'll help guide and educate customers about the fundamentals and benefits of consumer-driven healthcare topics, ensuring they select the best benefit plan options, maximize the value of their health plan benefits, and choose a quality care provider. You'll also contact care providers on behalf of the customer to assist with appointment scheduling or connections with internal specialists for assistance. This role is equally challenging and rewarding, requiring you to research complex issues pertaining to the caller's health, status, and potential plan options. You'll need to navigate across multiple databases, requiring fluency in computer navigation and toggling while confidently and compassionately engaging with the caller. **Key Responsibilities** * Respond to and resolve customer service inquiries and issues on the first call * Help guide and educate customers about the fundamentals and benefits of consumer-driven healthcare topics * Contact care providers on behalf of the customer to assist with appointment scheduling or connections with internal specialists for assistance * Assist customers in navigating myuhc.com and other arenaflex websites and encourage and reassure them to become self-sufficient * Research complex issues pertaining to the caller's health, status, and potential plan options **Requirements** * High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience * Must be 18 years of age OR older * 6+ months of customer service experience * Experience with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications * Ability to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM CST from Monday - Friday, including the flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends based on business need **Preferred Qualifications** * Healthcare / Insurance environment (familiarity with medical terminology, health plan documents, OR benefit plan design) * Social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, health promotion, and behavior change (working with vulnerable populations) * Experience with PC-based software programs and automated database management systems; Microsoft Word (create and edit documents), Microsoft Excel (create, edit, sort, pivot spreadsheets), and Microsoft PowerPoint (create and edit presentations) **Telecommuting Requirements** * Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable) * Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy * Must live in a location that can receive a arenaflex-approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service **Compensation and Benefits** The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to, local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. arenaflex complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
