The new Europe Logistics Director has experience in a similar role in a reputable, well-regarded globally operating corporation with advanced SC and logistics processes preferably in Manufacturing industry.  She/he has both a big picture view and development mind set, but in the end, is ready to jump in and get one’s hands dirty. This individual is known for skills in understanding by listening and getting things done by empowering people rather than dictating. Also, proven track record of understanding how to partner and collaborate with the business lines combined with the ability to align conceptual thinking and detailed actions is needed. The new Director naturally adheres to KONE values and has high degree of integrity and unquestioned ethics. She/he has genuine drive and true business acumen in all undertakings. The role and responsibilities: • Responsible for logistics service offering and development in the area (ENA, Europe, APA, China) • Collaborate with logistics service offering and logistics global execution teams • Ensure that customer needs and business requirements within area are understood and included in logistics teams´ targets and daily work and aligned with global logistics strategy and operating model • Manage area-based stakeholders and their expectations • Identify cross-unit/cross regional logistics partner network opportunities and risks • Facilitate the implementation of cross-unit logistics initiatives within own area • Lead selected logistics partner network negotiations and support supplier negotiations as needed • Act as the contract owner for nominated logistics contracts • Manage chronic and escalated logistics partner issues within area and escalate to Head of Logistics as needed • Manage the development of area savings and cost development and Logistics KPIs • Promote savings opportunities in area and towards Head of Logistics • Coach cluster/country teams in cost-sensitive behavior • Ensure execution of KONE Logistics strategy and targets in area • Manage logistics budget within area Leadership / People management • Lead, coach, involve and develop cluster/country teams, cluster/country logistics managers and logistics business support colleagues, ensure proper level of training, act to mitigate identified gaps on competences • Ensure logistics to be the “partner to go” for other functions with emphasis on providing fast and efficient support, especially for customer facing teams • Communicate logistics development and strategy in Area • Maintain successor and substitute plan for Cluster/country teams in Area • Own KONE Way Logistics Operating Model in the area • Ensure effective deployment and benefit realization of KONE Way and local initiatives • Provide input and feedback about changes needed to KONE Way What we are looking for: - Strategic and conceptual vision, customer orientation, as well as operative hands-on mentality - Business and customer mindset, understands full-chain business and success factors - Ideally, experience of leading logistics operations in a change environment - Builds and maintains strong networks at all levels - Ability to lead change in a fast-moving environment and jump on a moving train - Solid presentation and communication skills - Flexibility and willingness to travel - Suitable university level degree and fluent in English At KONE, we are focused on creating an innovative and collaborative working culture where we value the contribution of each individual.
