Key Responsibilities - Guest Experience Management: Greet each guest warmly, understand their needs, and guide them to the perfect product solutions. - Product Recommendation & Suggestive Selling: Leverage deep product knowledge—including nutrition, wellness, and specialty items—to recommend items that match guest lifestyles. - Animal Care & Welfare: Conduct hourly health checks on all live animals (birds, reptiles, fish, and small mammals), maintain clean and safe habitats, and promptly report any health concerns to the store leader. - Cashiering & Financial Accuracy: Process transactions swiftly, balance the register at shift end, and follow loss‑prevention protocols. - Inventory Management: Receive, unload, and stock merchandise; ensure proper pricing and shelf placement; participate in quarterly and annual physical inventory counts. - Omni‑Channel Support: Assist with Instacart orders, extended aisle pickups, and repeat deliveries, guaranteeing a seamless experience across all channels. - Store Presentation & Housekeeping: Keep aisles tidy, merchandise faced, floors clean, and restrooms pristine; execute daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and window washing. - Compliance & Safety: Follow arenaflex operational guidelines, safety regulations, and animal welfare policies; participate in regular safety drills. - Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with Guest Experience Leaders, Leaders on Duty, and fellow associates to resolve guest inquiries and support store initiatives. - Special Projects: Contribute to seasonal merchandising, promotional events, and community outreach programs as assigned by store leadership. Essential Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred. - 2+ years of retail or customer‑service experience, ideally in a pet‑care or specialty‑goods environment. - Demonstrated ability to handle cash accurately and operate point‑of‑sale (POS) systems. - Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑focused attitude. - Basic understanding of animal nutrition, health, and habitat requirements. - Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lb, and perform routine physical tasks. - Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment. - Flexibility to work a full‑time schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
