Why This Role Matters at arenaflex The Customer Service Manager (CSM) – Northeast Nuclear is a cornerstone of arenaflex’s mission to be the service provider of choice worldwide. In this role you will be the primary liaison for our nuclear customers across the Northeastern United States, steering complex outage projects, driving lean improvements, and safeguarding the profitability of our service portfolio. Your leadership will influence safety, quality, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction—key metrics that define arenaflex’s reputation and long‑term sustainability. Key Responsibilities - Strategic Customer Ownership: Serve as the single point of contact for assigned nuclear customers, cultivating trusted relationships that span technical, commercial, and strategic dimensions. - Profit & Loss Management: Own the financial performance of your portfolio, delivering on revenue targets, margin goals, and growth initiatives while balancing cost efficiency. - Outage Planning & Execution: Lead the end‑to‑end planning, budgeting, and delivery of planned and emergent outages, ensuring strict compliance with safety and quality standards. - Lean Transformation: Champion lean principles, driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and profitability across all customer engagements. - Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with engineering, finance, sales, sourcing, risk, parts, and repair teams to align resources, resolve technical challenges, and meet project milestones. - Commercial Negotiations: Draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts, Scope Change Authorizations (SCA), and Job Cost Estimator (JCE) proposals, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes. - People Leadership: Mentor and develop matrixed reports, fostering a high‑performance culture and building a pipeline of future leaders within arenaflex. - Safety & Quality Advocacy: Serve as an uncompromising champion for EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) and quality excellence, embedding best practices into every interaction. - Customer Advocacy: Proactively identify emerging opportunities, provide strategic guidance, and deliver innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations. Essential Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant customer‑facing experience. An associate’s degree with at least four (4) years of experience is also acceptable. - Minimum of three (3) additional years in a customer‑facing capacity within the power generation industry, specifically focusing on steam turbines, generators, or balance‑of‑plant equipment. - Demonstrated experience managing large‑scale outage projects, including planning, execution, and post‑outage closeout. - Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams in a matrixed environment, influencing without direct authority. - Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing P&L statements, budgeting, and cost control. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information to senior executives and external stakeholders. Preferred (Desired) Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear Engineering, etc.). - Field engineering background in turbine and generator maintenance, installation, or repair. - Hands‑on experience within nuclear power plant operations, including familiarity with NRC regulations and plant safety protocols. - Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent demonstrated mastery of continuous improvement methodologies. - Advanced knowledge of contract management, service agreements, and scope change processes. - Proficiency with project management tools such as Primavera P6, RPDM, and advanced Excel modeling. - Strong leadership track record in high‑tempo, changing environments, with a focus on talent development and succession planning.
