I’m looking for a creative partner not just an editor, not just a strategist but someone who genuinely cares about storytelling and changing how people see the world.
Quick background.
I run a YouTube channel that’s nearing 800,000 subscribers. I’ve been self-employed on YouTube for years. I started with raw, run-and-gun travel vlogs. About two years ago, I transitioned into documentaries but not traditional documentaries. They’re more like produced vlogs or vlogumentaries. They keep the authenticity and real-time exploration, but with a stronger narrative spine and intentional storytelling.
My mission is simple:
Go into countries people misunderstand / create storytelling experiences with strong character journeys
Film 8–14 hours of raw footage.
Show what it actually feels like to be there.
My editors then take that footage and build long-form videos for the channel.
Where I need help is at the creative level.
I’m looking for someone who:
• Is extremely passionate about travel and global culture
• Cares about changing perceptions of the world
• Understands YouTube storytelling and retention
• Can help lightly plan concepts before trips
• Can review rough cuts and help shape the narrative
• Can work with me and my editor to design stronger story arcs
• Can help craft strategic voiceovers that guide the journey
• Can identify the emotional spine of a video
• Can help turn raw footage into something more powerful, more intentional, and more engaging
You would potentially be in communication with me (the creator) and the editor. The role is about helping shape the full journey of the video — from idea to final cut — so that it maintains engagement and feels purposeful, not just a sequence of events.
This is not about overproducing. It’s about elevating what’s already there.
If you’re someone who watches travel content and thinks, “This could be structured better,” or “The emotional arc is missing,” or “This needs a clearer theme,” this might be for you.
When you apply, your first message must start with:
“I read this post in full and I am very interested.”
That lets me know you pay attention to detail.
Looking forward to finding the right creative mind to build with.
