What We Offer:
The Business Analyst – API partners with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to identify, analyze, and document requirements for application programming interfaces (APIs) that support internal and external system integrations. This role evaluates business needs to determine whether new APIs are required or enhancements to existing APIs are appropriate, ensuring alignment with enterprise integration standards and interoperability goals.
The Business Analyst – API supports the full API lifecycle, including requirements definition, API contract development, documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and well-documented APIs. Knowledge of FHIR-based APIs and healthcare interoperability standards is required.
Only considering candidates with 3 years in system validation or integration, preferably in the Healthcare industry.
This is a Remote Position. Candidates can be located in any state EXCEPT NY, NJ, IL, and CA.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Will accept minimum of eight years relevant experience in lieu of bachelors degree.
- Experience: 3 years required in healthcare IT, system integration, or API-focused business analysis.
- Additional Skills (required):- Working knowledge of API concepts, including REST, API contracts, and documentation standards.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting requirements for system integrations or APIs.
- Additional Skills (preferred):- Experience supporting API initiatives in a healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with Swagger / OpenAPI documentation tools.
- Experience working with integration platforms or enterprise integration teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
- Works with business, clinical, and technical stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document API requirements.
- Translates business and customer needs into clear, actionable functional and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitates discussions to determine whether new APIs are required or existing APIs should be enhanced.
- Collaborates with architects and engineers to define API contracts, including request/response structures, data models, and error handling.
- Supports API design reviews to ensure consistency with enterprise standards, security requirements, and interoperability goals.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of RESTful APIs, API versioning, and lifecycle management.
- Publishes API documentation using tools and standards such as Swagger / OpenAPI specifications.
