About the role:
At Vantage, the AVP Reinsurance Finance is a highly skilled and motivated member of the Reinsurance Finance team. The ideal candidate will be a certified accountant with strong expertise in financial analysis, industry analysis, peer analysis, and capital analysis. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, first-class PowerPoint skills, and the ability to deliver insightful presentations to senior management and key stakeholders.
Base salary for the selected candidate will be commensurate with candidate experience and expectations. Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Act as a key finance business partner to Underwriting teams to analyze financial performance, identify trends, assess business opportunities and provide actionable insights.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to support reporting and forecasting to key stakeholders.
- Perform industry and peer analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the reinsurance sector.
- Lead capital analysis efforts, including evaluating capital adequacy, optimizing capital allocation, and supporting regulatory compliance requirements.
- Act as the key reinsurance finance business partner to the FP&A team
- Prepare high-quality and visually compelling PowerPoint presentations to communicate complex financial data and insights effectively to senior management.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including actuarial, underwriting, and risk management, to support strategic initiatives and business planning.
- Monitor and interpret market developments, competitor performance, and industry benchmarks to provide actionable recommendations.
- Assist with special projects, including M&A evaluations, strategic reviews, and other corporate finance initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Professional Accounting Certification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) is required.
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance and/or insurance industry practices and financial metrics.
- Proven experience in financial and capital analysis within a corporate or consulting environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint with an ability to create polished, professional presentations.
- Solid technical skills in Excel and financial modeling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Bermuda’s regulatory environment and Solvency II.
