As an Actuarial Assistant, you will support the implementation of model changes for RILA & Variable Annuity products, ensuring the validity and transparency of model results for financial statements and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Implement annuity modeling solutions by utilizing product knowledge, studying existing models, and analyzing business requirements
- Analyze model results, including reconciling and attributing changes, communicating results to management, and creating detailed documentation
- Implement and test new software releases, new products, new regulatory requirements, and shared table changes in the Pathwise environment utilizing Python
- Optimize models to follow coding standards and improve performance
- Stage model inputs using data conversion systems and/or Alteryx
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related discipline
- At least 1 actuarial exam for the Society of Actuaries
- Strong programming skills (python preferred)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- The ability to work with others in a team environment
- Conceptual and analytical skills to develop solutions to complex problems
- Sound business judgment skills (decision-making and problem solving)
