Volunteer - Library

Positions in this class assist library staff and patrons with a variety of jobs and tasks throughout the library. This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation. The library has a variety of volunteer opportunities that include: ? Book Discussion Groups ? Teach Programs ? Children Programs ? English Literacy ? Shelving ? Special Events ? Materials Processing ? Dusting/Cleaning ? Program Presenter Contact: Penny Brumbaugh, 480-474-8570, Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week Days of Work Week: Monday through Saturday Volunteers 18 years of age or older who are accepted for assignment must consent and pass a criminal background check. Knowledge ? Communicate clearly and concisely (both verbally and in writing) ? Knowledge of City and department procedures, policies, and guidelines Skills ? Convey a positive, friendly attitude, work pleasantly with staff, patrons, and other volunteers. Understand and follow written and verbal instructions, policies, and procedures ? Work congenially with staff, patrons, and other volunteers ? Ability to lift and move objects as needed ? Suggest topics and speakers within the timeframe set by the library Apply Job!
