Job Title: Structural Design Mentor / ClearCalcs Power User (Residential Focus) Type: Hourly / Contract Location: Remote Duration: As-needed, short- to mid-term Overview: I’m a licensed architect and principal of a small architecture firm in Hawaii. I handle structural design for residential additions and new homes in-house and use ClearCalcs.com to produce the calcs and documentation required for permitting across several counties. I’m seeking a structural design professional—engineer, EIT, or experienced technician—who knows ClearCalcs inside and out and can work with me to sharpen my process, especially around load linking and structural system organization. This is less about teaching fundamentals, and more about helping me get the most out of the platform and smooth out workflow issues in real-world use. What You’ll Help With: Structuring efficient ClearCalcs workflows from project start to finish Maximizing load path continuity and linking across elements (e.g., roof-to-wall-to-foundation) Reviewing real project examples and walking through modeling strategy Answering platform-specific questions and clarifying best practices Ideal Background: Strong background in residential structural design (wood framing, CMU, light-gauge metal, etc.) Advanced ClearCalcs user—ideally with experience training or mentoring others Comfortable reviewing real projects and giving honest, constructive feedback Familiarity with plan check expectations and code compliance is a plus (especially IRC, IBC, ASCE 7, NDS) No license required, but must be able to speak the language of structural design confidently Details: Remote, screen-sharing sessions Hourly, flexible schedule Initially a handful of sessions, with possibility for occasional follow-up If you’re a structural design pro with strong ClearCalcs experience and enjoy helping others get dialed in, let’s talk. Please reply with a short intro, your experience with ClearCalcs and residential design, and your availability.
