Position Title: Senior BI Data Analyst Location: United States Employee Type: Contract Remote: Yes Pay Range: $30 - $35 per hour Job Description: Job#: 3028267 Work Location Type: 100% Telecommute In-Office Requirement: None Work Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Role Overview Our Client is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support a client-facing business intelligence migration initiative. This role will partner closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to migrate reporting from SAP BusinessObjects to Microsoft BI tools. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, hands-on BI experience, and excellent communication and documentation abilities. Key Responsibilities The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for the following on a day-to-day basis: • Set up, lead, and attend meetings with internal teams and external client stakeholders • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and current-state BI reporting • Lead discussions with external stakeholders to establish expectations and align on scope and deliverables • Perform detailed analysis comparing existing BI functionality to future-state Microsoft BI solutions • Provide daily and weekly progress updates, including risks and roadblocks, using Jira • Offer guidance and troubleshooting support to end users to ensure successful adoption of Microsoft BI tools • Maintain clear, accurate, and well-organized project and technical documentation Required Skills & Experience • Minimum 2 years of database experience • Minimum 2 years of experience with business intelligence tools (Microsoft BI tools strongly preferred) • Minimum 2 years of experience documenting business and technical requirements • Minimum 2 years working in an Agile environment, including use of an Agile tracking tool (Jira preferred) Preferred Skills & Attributes • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills • Solid understanding of business intelligence capabilities and limitations • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • High attention to detail with strong documentation practices Certifications • No professional licenses or certifications required Project / Initiative Summary The client has requested Client's partnership to migrate from their existing business intelligence platform, SAP BusinessObjects, to Microsoft BI tools. This initiative requires extensive analysis of current versus future-state reporting functionality, along with clear and consistent communication to guide stakeholders through the transition. Ideal Candidate Background • At least 3 years of experience working with business intelligence tools • Experience supporting or working within a large data warehouse environment • Collaborative, inquisitive, and approachable • Comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Top 3 Required Skills • Microsoft BI Tools Experience (Report Builder preferred) • User and Client Engagement / Soft Skills • Attention to Detail and Documentation Skills Differentiators Candidates who stand out will demonstrate strong attention to detail within Jira or similar project tracking tools, paired with hands-on technical expertise in both databases and business intelligence platforms.
