Job title: School Leader - Indiana Wesleyan University Program in Marion, IN at Westminster Preschool Company: Westminster Preschool Job description : Summary The School Leader is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day health, safety, and quality of education, for all children within the center?s care. The School Leader is focused on providing instructional leadership to promote growth in student learning. All leadership will advocate for the organization in regards to fulfilling our vision and mission statement. This program can run around a max of 60 children. Duties Expectations/Values Leadership Models authentic servant leadership through honesty, responsibility, respect, trust, humility, and upholding Westminster?s values. Holds confidential all information regarding Westminster?s data and conversations, during employment and after termination or resignation of employment. This includes but is not limited to financials, employee records, and details of management. Attends all meetings with an engaging demeanor, bringing their voice to the table. Seeks out personal & professional development. Partners directly with the Operations Leader in completing tasks and maintaining a united front. Culture Create a culture of shared purpose, trust, community, vision and promote inclusion. Lives in curiosity over judgment in all relationships Assess the effectiveness of instructional practices and set goals to enhance child outcomes by cultivating a professional learning community that prioritizes high-quality teaching and data-driven assessment to drive student success and a positive school culture. Gather, analyze, and apply assessment and evaluation data to inform and enhance program effectiveness. Attain, maintain, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and requirements, including but not limited to, Indiana Child Care Registered Ministry Licensing, PTQ, COGNIA, VCP, CCDF, and CACFP. Partners with employees in conflict to work towards resolution. Collaborate with the Operations Leader to recruit, hire, and onboard new team members, while fostering a supportive environment that retains high-quality talent to ensure continuity in the learning experience. Community Lead family engagement initiatives and oversee regular internal and external communication. Ensure that every family's experience within the school is smooth and cohesive by prioritizing clear, timely communication and easy access to information and resources. Work alongside Westminster Preschools teams to engage with field experts, community leaders, and key partners, strengthening opportunities for the growth and development of all children. Communication Communicate and articulate Westminster?s mission, vision, values, and goals clearly. Provide abundant communication with current and prospective families through various forms of communication (in-person, procare, newsletters, etc). Efficiently, professionally, and consistently utilizes various forms of group communication to staff (i.e. Groupme, email, text, phonecall, in-person). Work collaboratively with the Operations Leader and in partnership with the Program Coach to ensure program efficiency and effectiveness. Curriculum Learn, understand, and oversee implementation of Westminster?s Curriculum through Pathwright and in paper form. Read Bill Millard?s book ?Life Calling,? which provides further depth behind Westminster?s Curriculum. Ensure all staff are completing curriculum paperwork and assessments. Creativity & Resourcefulness Motivated self-starter who is able to ask for assistance when needed. Proactive in meeting deadlines and planning for future events (i.e. Christmas program, graduation, etc). Designs short-term and long-term goals for program development and puts forth creative solutions to meet them. Finances Manage the budget to ensure financial stability and sustainability of the school, alongside the Operations Leader. Balance Maintain emotional control in stressful situations. Creates and maintains healthy physical, emotional, and spiritual boundaries between staff and themselves. Committed to taking care of self and understanding their impact. Requirements Qualifications required: Associate?s Degree in Early Childhood Education, at least 2 years of Early Childhood Education experience. Must commit to pursuing a Bachelor?s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Qualifications preferred: Bachelor?s Degree in Early Childhood Education or higher, 3 or more years of early Childhood leadership experience Requirements Meet National Association Membership Qualifications Infant/child CPR & First Aid Certification Pass background check Pass physical health screening Team member must frequently: Stand, walk, sit Use hand and fingers to handle books, paper, technology Use computer and other electronic devices See and read Communicate with multiple audiences, including children, co-workers, and management Reach with hands and arms Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl Must be able to frequently lift children or equipment up to 40 pounds Must be able to occasionally lift children or equipment up to 50 pounds Skills Basic understanding of Google (Drive, gmail, calendar, etc).
