Job Overview
A law firm seeks an admitted attorney within Puerto Rico for a promising Remote Immigration Attorney position based in San Juan, PR. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated attorney to gain valuable experience and advance their career with an established firm. The attorney will report to the Managing Immigration Attorney and manage their caseload while collaborating with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.
Duties
• Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions.
• Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a workload of diverse cases.
• Conduct intake with detained individuals at centers.
• Prepare immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as needed.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and community organizations on immigration law changes.
• Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients.
• Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.
Requirements
• At least 3-5 years of experience in immigration law.
• Team player open to collaboration and strategizing with associates.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and advance legal cases.
• Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Experience with case management software preferred.
Education
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Certifications
• Admitted to practice law in Puerto Rico.

• Strong legal analysis and strategic planning abilities.
