Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Archdiocese of Baltimore is seeking a Facilities Manager for the Catholic Center/Basilica. This role is responsible for overseeing all operations, maintenance, and contracted services to maintain a safe and functional environment for staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
• Direct supervisor for maintenance personnel at Catholic Center and Basilica
• Preparation and monitoring of annual Catholic Center building operations and capital budget
• Working with the Risk Manager, coordinates and supervises emergency response planning for building occupants
• Manage, supervise, and negotiate all contracted services including - security, housekeeping, janitorial, mailroom, landscaping, snow removal, pest control, trash, recycling, shredding, utilities, elevators, water treatment, building automation, temperature control, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, access control, first aide, window cleaning
• Supports the Basilica Rector in the procurement of: Security, landscaping, Janitorial, preventive maintenance for HVAC and elevator preventive maintenance
• Contract/ manage lease of building tenants and provides annual sq. ft. report for departmental costs accounting. Manage and coordinate building layouts and drawings of building systems
• Procurement of supplies consumed inside the Catholic Center - Copier paper, janitorial supplies, office supplies, safety, first aide, AED, kitchenette supplies, uniforms
• Implementation of preventive maintenance systems and schedules for all building systems and operations
• Coordinates, manages, and supervises capital projects inside the Catholic Center
• Works with Down-Town partnership, Catholic Charities and Baltimore Police Department to manage activities in and around the Catholic Center
• Able to quickly learn and operate the Siemens building automation system for temperature control, energy management, and system monitoring
• Coordinates the procurement and administration of parking passes for the Franklin Street Garage
• Manages security for Catholic Center and Basilica including creating and issuing employee badges, setting levels of authority, key control for all locks. Issues garage openers as authorized
• Responsible for coordinating and scheduling events in Archbishop Borders Hall, working with staff to set up furniture for events
• Respond and coordinate after hours emergency - responsible for coordinating activities during inclement weather events, sending out notifications to employees
• Provides Facilities Management support to various Baltimore City parish facilities on an as needed basis
• Perform occasional hands-on maintenance or repairs as required
• Perform other duties as required
Skills
• Maryland state license in HVAC and refrigeration
• Master Plumber
• Master Electrician
• High School Diploma. Trade school certification in Building Operations or equivalent required
• Five years of facilities management experience. Minimum of 5 years in facilities management
• Extensive knowledge of all building systems - technical in all areas of building operations
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical drawings, technical publications, and other documents
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Computer literacy with all MS products, Google Docs, and building automation systems, security systems
• Ability to make presentations at Catholic Center employee meetings
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and manage work assignments that may be extremely broad in scope and incumbent will need to determine and complete specific duties
