The Regional Vice President, Retirement Sales is an external wholesaling role focused on driving core market retirement plan sales. The role supports plans starting at inception and growing to $30 million in assets. This role partners closely with financial advisors and third‑party administrators to distribute John Hancock’s Signature and Enterprise retirement products. The opportunity offers exposure to complex retirement solutions, strong internal collaboration, and the ability to make a meaningful impact by helping clients improve retirement readiness. Position Responsibilities: - Drive retirement plan sales growth, focusing on core market plans from start‑up through $30M in assets - Act as a consultative sales partner to financial advisors, consultants, and TPAs by providing ERISA‑focused and technical retirement expertise - Demonstrate deep proficiency in John Hancock RPS products, service models, Core/Signature offerings, and ancillary benefits, as well as competitor products - Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders including Core and Mid/Large Market RVPs, sales desks, SRMs, DVPs, National Accounts, SMEs, and cross‑functional teams - Participate in the full sales preparation process, including prospecting, plan analysis, RFP support, plan design recommendations, and interpretation of plan documents and SPDs Required Qualifications: - 10 years of industry experience in retirement plans or financial services - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience - Active and maintained required licenses: Series 6, 63 and Life and Annuity Life Insurance - Ability to travel up to 80% Preferred Qualifications: - Strong understanding of qualified retirement plan design and current legal and regulatory developments - Exceptional communication, presentation, organizational, and negotiation skills - Demonstrated ability to succeed in a team‑selling environment and manage multiple priorities with deadlines - Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with skill in evaluating plan operations and recommending improvements - Experience working cross‑functionally with Sales, Operations, Implementation, Benefits Consulting, Marketing, and Communications teams When you join our team: - We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want. - We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words. - As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see. Referenced Salary Location USA, New York - Full Time Remote Working Arrangement Remote Salary range is expected to be between $100,000.00 USD - $175,000.00 USD Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
