Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy (MGLVA), a Stride K12 partner school. As an online educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, personalized education to students with special needs in grades K-5. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specific course content in an online environment, tailored to meet the individual needs of students with special needs Develop and implement compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), progress reports, and other state-specific required special education documentation Communicate effectively with parents, related service staff, and IEP team members to ensure students receive necessary therapies and support Facilitate collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings Provide accommodations and modifications to Stride K12 lessons and assessments as specified by the IEP Collect data and work samples to monitor student progress towards IEP goals and objectives Analyze student data to inform remediation and enrichment strategies Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, students, and learning coaches/parents Requirements: Bachelor's degree Active State Special Education teaching license Ability to clear required background check Michigan residency required Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with students in grades K-5 Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment Experience with online learning platforms What We Offer: Competitive salary Opportunity to work independently in a virtual environment Collaborative and supportive team Professional development opportunities Chance to make a positive impact on students' lives Apply Now: We encourage you to apply, even if you feel you're not a perfect match.
