Our client, a well-established boutique intellectual property law firm, is seeking an experienced IP Litigation Paralegal to support its growing litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated IP matters in a highly collaborative, low-turnover environment with long-tenured leadership and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of litigation docketing across a variety of forums, including federal courts (trial and appellate), PTAB trials, TTAB opposition and cancellation proceedings, and foreign matters; ensure accuracy and compliance with all applicable deadlines and rules (experience with CompuLaw is strongly preferred).
• Conduct and assist with conflict checks, including running searches, analyzing results, and performing follow-up research as needed; utilize tools such as Docket Navigator to support matter-related research and reporting.
• Support attorneys with legal research, cite checking, and drafting of briefs and brief components; assist with a range of litigation tasks, including appellate-related work such as preparation of Designations of Materials.
• Implement and manage document retention holds, ensuring proper identification, preservation, and organization of relevant materials.
• Handle and/or assist with third-party subpoenas served on the firm, including drafting responses and objections and coordinating the collection and review of potentially responsive documents.
• Prepare and analyze reports, including Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) reports, in support of conflict checks and broader litigation activity and business intelligence needs.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of Paralegal experience, including direct experience in Intellectual Property litigation.
• Demonstrated experience with litigation docketing across multiple forums, including federal courts; exposure to PTAB, TTAB, and/or appellate matters is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with CompuLaw or similar docketing systems strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting complex, deadline-driven litigation matters, with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong background in legal research, cite checking, and litigation document preparation, including familiarity with briefing processes.
• Experience assisting with conflict checks and related research, with the ability to analyze and follow up on search results.
• Familiarity with document management systems and best practices related to document retention, organization, and retrieval.
• Experience handling or supporting subpoena responses and document collection efforts is a big plus.
• Comfortable working with research and reporting tools such as Docket Navigator, Dun & Bradstreet, or similar platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
