Accurately codes diagnostic and procedural information following coding guidelines and regulations information including, facility specific guidelines and federal regulations.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3EWhat You Will Do%3C/strong%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3EReviews low to moderate complex medical records to assign diagnostic ICD-10-CM and or ICD-10-PCS codes according to established coding, CMS, and hospital guidelines (95%)%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ECoding Technical Skills- ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG%27s, APR DRGs, ROM, SOI, and POA assignment.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EUnderstanding of CC%27s, MCC%27s, HCC%27s, impact on quality reporting, HAC%27s and PSI%27s%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EMaintains productivity and quality rate according to established standards.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EWorks within UH billing time frames.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EMaintains coding knowledge and skills via written coding resources, clinical information and educational webinars. Maintains knowledge of guidelines and regulations affecting the UHHS Coding Department. Maintains up to date credentials.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAbides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAbstracts selected data items and enters in 3M encoder/Epic software with accuracy and attention to detail.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EFollows facility query policy and CDI reconciliation process.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EUtilizes critical thinking/problem solving processes.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ECollaborates with and supports the Clinical Documentation Integrity Team.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EDemonstrates effective time management skills by completing assignments within time constraints and calendar schedule.%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3EAdditional Responsibilities%3C/strong%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3EParticipates in educational and informational activities.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EPerforms other duties as assigned.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EComplies with all policies and standards.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EFor specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EMust abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
