Job Description:
We are an Australian-based solar and battery company looking for a reliable and experienced Finance Manager / Bookkeeper to manage our financial operations on an ongoing basis.
This is a long-term role for someone who can take ownership of our finances, maintain accurate records, and provide clear reporting and insights to support business decisions.
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Management
Manage Xero daily (invoices, bills, transactions)
Perform bank reconciliations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Reconcile Hubdoc and export to Xero
Ensure correct integration and data flow between Tradify and Xero
Payroll
Process fortnightly payroll (small team)
Manage superannuation obligations
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Review accounts payable and prepare payments
Monitor accounts receivable
Send invoice reminders and statements
Track outstanding payments
Cash Flow Management (Very Important)
Track all inflows and outflows
Monitor customer payments and supplier obligations
Forecast weekly and monthly cash flow
Identify potential cash shortages and provide updates
Reporting
Prepare:
Profit & Loss
Balance Sheet
Cash Flow reports
Track key metrics such as profit per job, costs, and outstanding receivables
Ensure job costing data from Tradify aligns with financial reporting
Compliance
Assist with BAS preparation
Ensure compliance with Australian requirements (PAYG, super, etc.)
Requirements
Strong experience with Xero (essential)
Experience with Tradify (highly preferred)
Experience with Australian accounting/compliance
Good understanding of bookkeeping and financial reporting
Excellent English communication (written and spoken)
Strong attention to detail
Organised and reliable
Ability to work independently
Nice to Have
Experience with Hubdoc
Experience working with Australian trades/solar companies
Experience with job costing and project-based businesses
