**Job Summary**
As a Principal Engineer – Data Analytics & Science, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of data analytics and science solutions that drive business growth and improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders, to design and implement data-driven solutions that meet business needs. You will also be responsible for mentoring and guiding junior team members, as well as staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the field.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Lead the development and implementation of data analytics and science solutions that drive business growth and improvement
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions that meet business needs
* Mentor and guide junior team members to develop their skills and expertise
* Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the field, and apply this knowledge to drive business growth and improvement
* Develop and maintain complex data models and reporting structures
* Drive the plan and execution of adaptable and effective data analytics and science solutions
* Ensure the integrity, security, and performance of data items and reporting solutions by collaborating with stages, data design, and service groups
* Define and implement the long-term technical strategy for data analytics and science, incorporating emerging technologies and industry trends
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, data engineers, stages specialists, and IT experts, to develop comprehensive data solutions
* Cultivate a collaborative environment that encourages information sharing and expertise development
* Lead technical authority meetings, lunch and learn sessions, and other events to engage the technical community within the organization
* Establish and uphold data quality principles and best practices, and execute processes for data validation, cleansing, and accuracy
* Assess and select suitable data analytics and science tools to address business needs, and lead requirement meetings and collaborate closely with stages and infrastructure groups during the assessment and implementation of these tools
* Collaborate with engineering and development teams to create and maintain documentation for data analytics processes, reporting structures, and data models
* Monitor the performance of data analytics and science solutions, and provide technical authority to drive security and agility of data items and reporting solutions
* Perform measures to streamline performance and investigate issues
* Provide critical insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making at the organizational level
* Recommend infrastructure upgrades to support business growth and advancing technology needs
* Utilize arenaflex services, such as Azure SQL DW (Neurotransmitter), ADLS, arenaflex Event Hub, Universe, Data bricks, Delta-Lake to improve and accelerate delivery of our data items and services
* Develop large data and NoSQL solutions by creating adaptable data handling stages to drive high-value insights to the organization
**Requirements**
* Proven track record of at least 15 years of active experience in data analytics and science jobs
* 5 years of experience in leadership or senior roles, demonstrating the ability to effectively guide and lead a team
* 5 years of experience working with cloud technologies, such as ADLS, arenaflex Databricks, Flash, arenaflex Neural Network, Universe DB, DBT, and other big data innovations
* Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools, languages, ML, and systems (e.g., Conos, PowerBI, SQL, Python, R)
* Capability in data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI or similar tools to effectively communicate insights
* Demonstrated ability in working with cloud platforms, such as AWS, arenaflex or Google Cloud, to design and implement adaptable and efficient data analytics solutions
* In-depth understanding and practical application of Lakehouse architecture standards, combining the best of data lakes and data warehouses for powerful and adaptable data management
* High-level SQL skills. Strong understanding of social databases and business data capacity to write complex SQL queries against multiple data sources
* Experience managing high-volume and high-speed data streams, and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time analysis
* Experience in shaping the essential vision for data analytics and science drives within an organization
* Effective management of data analytics projects, including planning, execution, and delivery
* Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, adapt to emerging technologies, and execute industry best practices
* Demonstrated ability to take ownership and accountability of critical issues and resolve them to closure
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science or related technical discipline
* Relevant industry certifications are a plus
* Experience in retail, manufacturing, e-commerce, supply chain
**Compensation and Benefits**
* Salary range: $160,000 - $230,000
* Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit Eligible
