Education Assistant - Inclusion

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Education Assistant - Inclusion to join our team at Catalina Foothills School District in Arizona. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs within a regular classroom setting. Key Responsibilities: Work individually with students with special needs to support their educational progress and achieve their Individual Education Program (IEP) goals. Modify lessons, instructional materials, quizzes, and tests to ensure student accessibility and comprehension. Conduct parallel teaching/tutoring, take notes for students, and work with small groups of students. Maintain behavior reinforcement programs, provide physical support and assistance, and assist with major personal, physical, and custodial needs of students. Assist with range of motion exercises, physical/occupational therapy programs, and physical education. Teach life skills and study skills, write and submit progress reports, and assist other special needs students as needed. Use various methods, such as assistive software, sign language, Braille, and typing/writing, to communicate with students and assist them in developing functional communication skills. Monitor and document student activities and progress for teacher and parental review. Requirements: Associate's degree preferred and six months of experience working with special needs children. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Level I - IVPP Fingerprint Clearance card through Arizona Department of Public Safety. CPR certificate and First Aid certificate are required within one (1) year of hire. Willingness to support feeding and toileting of students with training. Working Conditions: .875 FTE, Monday - Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. (includes 30-minute unpaid meal break). 10 months/188 paid workdays per year. Non-Exempt, benefits eligible.
