EEC Solutions is looking for a Drafter for a possible upcoming contract at VA Long Beach Healthcare System, Long Beach, CA.

Position Description:
The Drafter assists the contracted Architect and VA Architect in site documentation of campus buildings and utilities at VALBHS, producing AutoCAD, Revit, and ZLink drawings. The Drafter reports to the Chief of Projects & Construction Management and supports the Drawing Room, documentation schedules, and move/construction updates across the campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist contracted and VA Architect to create and execute drafting services for campus spaces including plans, reflected ceiling plans, and elevations in AutoCAD, Revit, and ZLink.
• Prepare detailed AutoCAD and Revit FF&E plan layers; interpret and review architectural plans for VA TIL compliance.
• Identify incomplete or inaccurate information in existing drawings; discuss and escalate to contracted Architect and Chief of Projects & Construction Management.
• Maintain Drawing Room in good order including drawings, plans, and project binders for various design and construction projects.
• Assist in management and updates of all drawing documentation in AutoCAD, Revit, and ZLink formats.
• Document completed moves and minor construction by coordinating with Interior Design staff and contracted movers.
• Assist with creation and maintenance of documentation schedule; report to Chief of Projects & Construction Management.
• Perform administrative duties including day-in-life scenarios, move plans, schedule creation, and project meeting attendance.
• Apply working knowledge of ABAAS, VA Barrier Free Design Guide, TIL, ICC, OSHA, IFC, and Life Safety codes.
• Coordinate with Contracting, Logistics, EMS, OI&T, Material Management, end users, and Engineering stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Engineering Drafting or Bachelor's Degree required (SP8 standard).
- Minimum 5 years of commercial drafting experience. 3 years of AutoCAD and 3 years of Revit experience required (SP8 standard).
- Candidates must provide degree documentation (Associate's or Bachelor's) and resume demonstrating 5+ years commercial drafting with AutoCAD/Revit proficiency per SP8.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of healthcare design, fire/life safety codes, building codes, barrier free design. Microsoft Project and Teams beneficial.
- Must communicate effectively and meet stated deadlines.
- LEED certification preferred.
