The Team: Similar to how Jobber empowers small businesses with the tools and insights they need to succeed, the Strategy and Analytics Department ensures our people at Jobber have the tooling, data insights, and strategic direction to excel in our shared mission. We turn data into actionable insights, and critical business needs into impactful software, working with multiple teams and departments across the company to execute against their mandates. Essentially, Strategy & Analytics serves as a central hub that drives business outcomes in all corners of Jobber’s ecosystem. The role: The Director of Data Science will lead the evolution of Jobber’s Analytics and Insights organization from insight generation to automated intelligence. Reporting to the VP of Analytics & Insights, this role will be responsible for building and scaling Jobber’s data science team and practice, developing predictive models, experimentation frameworks, and AI analytic capabilities that drive automation, efficiency, and growth. This leader will play a pivotal role in enabling Jobber to move faster and make smarter, data-driven decisions through advanced analytics and self-service empowerment. As the Director of our Data Science Group, you will bring your previous experience in developing high-performance data science teams to design, refine, and deploy ML models while supporting team members’ career, technical and methodological growth. To be successful, you should have: • The ability to define, execute and lead data science strategy development in alignment with the 3-Year Analytics and Insights plan, focusing on predictive analytics, automation, and AI-driven decision-making. • A track record of success leading a data science team in development of predictive and prescriptive models that drive and support an organization’s growth strategy. • A track record of success leading and implementing an experimentation framework to accelerate learning and decision confidence • Experience with the development of data products to enable organizational self service including the use of AI / LLMs . • Experience with a rigorous decision science framework and governance function to ensure models and experiments are performant and accurate. • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire teams and influence senior stakeholders. • Exceptional written and oral communication. • Strong command of modern data stacks (e.g., dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, AWS/GCP, MLflow). • A thoughtful and effective approach to performance management. • Comfort with budgets. You will be responsible for the Data Science Team Budget. You should have experience managing a budget, working with Finance teams and managing vendors.
