Desktop Automation Specialist

The Desktop Automation Specialist develops, implements, and supports enterprise workstation automation, endpoint management, and lifecycle initiatives in collaboration with IT leadership. This position is responsible for driving technological improvements, automation strategies, endpoint remediation, and longterm workstation planning to support Shamrock Foods Company business objectives.  This role serves as the Tier 3 escalation point for Desktop Services (Tier 2) and provides technical leadership for endpoint platforms including Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and Tanium.  Essential Duties:  - Works closely with IT leadership to define, implement, and support workstation automation, endpoint management, and lifecycle improvement initiatives.  - Serves as the technical owner for enterprise Windows workstation platforms, including deployment, configuration, patching, and remediation.  - Develops and maintains automated workstation deployment processes using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot.  - Administers Microsoft Intune for endpoint configuration, compliance policies, endpoint security policies, application deployment, and Windows Update management.  - Administers Tanium for workstation management, including OS patching, thirdparty application patching, and automated remediations.  - Develops, maintains, and supports endpoint automation solutions to reduce manual desktop support effort and improve system reliability.  - Performs Tier 3 troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex workstation and endpoint issues and implements permanent corrective actions.  - Manages workstation lifecycle activities including provisioning, reimaging, repurposing, and retirement.  - Identifies and resolves configuration drift, compliance issues, and inventory discrepancies across Intune, Active Directory, and Tanium.  - Collaborates with Security, Infrastructure, and Application teams to ensure endpoint compliance, stability, and alignment with company standards.  - Independently assesses and identifies opportunities for process improvement that align with IT and business objectives.  - Creates and maintains technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures related to endpoint management and automation.  - Advises Desktop Services (Tier 2) and Service Desk (Tier 1) teams on best practices for workstation support and remediation.  - Maintains a secure and reliable endpoint environment in alignment with Shamrock policies and standards.  - Identifies and implements automation and AI‑enabled solutions, where appropriate, to improve endpoint support efficiency, reduce support request volume and operational costs, and enhance overall end‑user productivity and customer satisfaction. - Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by and at management’s sole discretion.  Qualifications:  - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.  - 5+ years of experience supporting and administering enterprise Windows workstation environments.  - Demonstrated experience with endpoint management platforms, including:   - Microsoft Intune  - Windows Autopilot  - Tanium Endpoint Management  - Strong understanding of Windows OS management, patching, driver updates, and endpoint security concepts.  - Demonstrated proficiency in automation and scripting, including PowerShell.  - Proven ability to identify improvement opportunities, design solutions, implement changes, and sustain results.  - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.  - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  - Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department, which may occasionally require evenings or weekends.  Corporate Summary: At Shamrock Foods Company, people come first – our associates, our customers, and the families we serve across the nation.
