We are partnering with a mission-driven technology organization building modern data platforms that power innovation and improve outcomes across complex, data-intensive environments. We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to help design and scale a cloud-native data ecosystem supporting critical analytics and operational systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building reliable, secure, and scalable data infrastructure in AWS. You’ll work closely with product and analytics teams to shape how data flows across platforms while ensuring accuracy, performance, and governance standards are met.

What You’ll Do
Design & Build Cloud-Native Data Systems
• Develop and administer scalable AWS-based data solutions using services such as AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, Redshift, Aurora, Amazon S3, and MWAA (Airflow)
• Design modern data architectures including data lakes, warehouses, ingestion pipelines, and transactional processing systems
• Translate business and analytics requirements into scalable data models
• Build and support internal applications using Python, SQL, and stored procedures
Develop Reliable Data Pipelines
• Design, implement, and maintain ETL processes for ingesting, transforming, and validating complex datasets
• Automate manual workflows to improve reliability and reduce operational overhead
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across systems
Optimize Performance & Scalability
• Monitor and tune pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Implement partitioning, caching, and optimization strategies
• Evaluate new tools and continuously improve platform capabilities
Collaborate & Lead
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship within the data engineering team
• Partner with product and analytics stakeholders to align engineering solutions with business goals
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Data Governance & Security
• Implement data security controls and governance standards
• Maintain compliance with healthcare data regulations and industry best practices
• Protect sensitive data through strong access and monitoring practices
What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles
• Deep expertise with AWS-native data platforms (Redshift, Aurora/RDS PostgreSQL, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, MWAA/Airflow)
• Strong Python and SQL skills, including advanced query optimization
• Experience working with healthcare data (medical claims, pharmacy/Rx claims, or similar datasets)
• Proven ability to partner with business teams and translate requirements into technical solutions
• Strong ownership mindset with a collaborative, team-first approach
