SEH is an employee-owned engineering, architectural, planning, and environmental company that has been providing solutions to complex challenges since 1927. They are seeking a Civil Engineer to support their Civil Engineering teams by utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and analysis of various infrastructure systems, preparing construction plans, and managing project tasks.
Responsibilities
- Supporting members of our Civil Engineering teams
- Use of AutoCAD Civil 3D for analysis and design of roadways, trails, sidewalks, water main, sanitary and storm sewer systems, grading and earthwork calculations, and site improvements
- Use of Microsoft Excel for development of project bid item tables, quantities and cost opinions
- Prepare construction plans and specifications, site plans, grading and drainage plans, studies and reports for a wide range of public and private infrastructure systems
- The position may serve as a Field Engineer or assist survey crews during construction of various projects
- Manage work activities and team responsibilities and report to supervisor and team members on status of project tasks
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Ability to collaborate in-office, at home, and on job sites
- Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Zero (0) to Two (2) years of experience in the Civil Engineering field
- Previous experience or training with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Previous experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
- Previous Civil Engineering or construction experience including internships
- Ability to read, comprehend and interpret engineering plans and topographic maps
