Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented graduate student to join our team as a Chemistry Department Teaching Assistant at the University of Kentucky. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in guiding students to a deeper comprehension of chemistry course material, while maintaining the utmost standard of responsibility, integrity, and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: Teach multiple course sections of a lower-level lab, typically the General Chemistry laboratory Prepare and clean up laboratories, manage safety, and provide instruction and monitoring to students Hold office hours, proctor exams, and evaluate student work according to rubrics Participate in professional development activities, including orientation, weekly meetings, and formal in-lab observations Maintain records and participate in other duties as assigned Requirements: Current UK graduate student in good standing with the Graduate School 3.0 GPA or higher Completion of General Chemistry with Lab and Organic Chemistry with Lab (CHE 105, 107, 111, and 113 or equivalents) with a grade of B or better Ability to lift and carry light-weight objects and stand for approximately 3 hours at a time What We Offer: Competitive stipend Tuition scholarship provided by the UK Graduate School/College of Arts & Sciences Student Health Plan Coverage provided by the Graduate School/College of Arts & Sciences Opportunities for professional development and growth How to Apply: Ready to join our team?
