The Program Director is responsible for managing AI and automation programs for Tarpon clients. The primary responsibilities of the Program Director are to establish and lead complex, multi-client AI and automation initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of client partnership and program execution — you will be the primary point of accountability for client relationships, program health, and the quality of outcomes delivered by your team. This role involves managing client relationships, guiding service delivery teams, and supporting the development and execution of the delivery team strategic vision. The ideal candidate brings expertise in healthcare operations, intelligent automation, AI technologies, solution delivery, and client relationship management.
Description
Responsibilities:
-Program Management
- Own end-to-end program delivery across a portfolio of AI and automation engagements — managing scope, timelines, risks, and resource allocation.
- Set up and manage cross-department AI and automation program governance
- Advise on best practice technical setup and strategy for automation platforms, AI applications, and supporting systems
- Implement an operating model to support the AI and automation lifecycle
- Create, manage, and execute the client AI and automation roadmap
- Implement and oversee maintenance strategy to support the long-term maintenance and growth of the program
-Program Resource Management
- Manage solution architect(s) throughout solution identification and design
- Manage AI and automation developer(s) throughout development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
-Client Relationship Management
- Report out to health system senior leadership on program updates, blockers and key milestones
- Work closely with program sponsor to ensure ongoing strategic alignment, stakeholder engagement, support on requests and blockers, and review of key decisions and deliverables
- Proactively identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts, including upsell, cross-sell, and solution enhancement initiatives. Support sales to define scope and approach for new initiatives.
-Tarpon Delivery
- Support the development and execution of the Tarpon Delivery Team strategic vision
- Scale and improve the operations and processes needed to support the Managed Service Deliverables
- Stay current on the AI and automation landscape, translating emerging capabilities into practical recommendations for clients and internal teams.
-Tarpon Community
- Participate in Tarpon Community activities specific to Program Management activities, including but not limited to: Program Management Certification training, Webinars, Research, User Groups
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
- 2+ years experience serving as a Program Director or similar position
- 4+ years experience in client service or account management
- 4+ years experience in designing and developing scalable automation and AI solutions using UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, etc.
- Experience in Revenue Cycle and/or healthcare related industries desired
- Proficiency in process mapping applications like Visio, Lucid Charts, Canva, GitMind, etc.
Required Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare operations (7+ years)
- Automation platform knowledge such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, or Power Automate, or AI/ML tools (5-7 years minimum)
- Proven experience in program management or a related leadership role (5-7 years minimum)
- Familiarity with budget management, strategic planning, and staffing planning
