An agency is seeking an Associate Director of AI Content Strategy to lead complex, multidisciplinary initiatives that transform how content supports business goals and user needs. This is a highly strategic role for someone who can define a clear content vision, architect scalable systems and governance models, and guide teams through execution. You’ll play a key role in large-scale digital transformation efforts—from designing content models and information architecture systems to future-proofing content ecosystems with AI and emerging technologies.
You’ll analyze existing content and organizational capabilities, define taxonomies and metadata frameworks, develop content management solutions, and shape information strategies. Your work will go beyond structuring content—you’ll ensure alignment between user needs and business objectives, turning complexity into intuitive, scalable solutions.
This is not an editorial or copy management role. It’s focused on bringing clarity to complex systems and aligning content ecosystems with both audience expectations and business goals.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Serve as a trusted subject matter expert for internal teams and client stakeholders
• Lead content governance, audits, workflow design, and lifecycle management
• Create and evolve information architecture, content models, taxonomy structures, and metadata systems
• Develop strategic frameworks, including voice & tone, messaging guidelines, and scalable content patterns
• Partner with Experience Design, Product, and Engineering teams to scale content operations and ensure consistency across channels
• Design and lead conversation strategy for chat, voice, and next-generation agentic experiences
• Build dialogue flows, interaction scripts, guardrails, and error-handling pathways
• Apply a strong understanding of LLM behavior, including prompting, context windows, hallucination risks, and limitations
• Develop “golden” queries and responses to benchmark quality and ensure safe, consistent outputs
• Create AI content pipelines, including governance frameworks, training data readiness, and human-in-the-loop processes
• Architect intent taxonomies, entity structures, and conversational knowledge hierarchies
• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to deploy and optimize conversational AI experiences (chatbots, voice assistants, agentic systems)
What We’d Like To See
• 6–8+ years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, content design, or related strategic roles within an agency, consulting, or client services environment
• Deep expertise in content architecture, metadata strategy, information architecture, and CMS/content delivery platforms
• Experience designing and scaling enterprise-level content systems that support reuse, localization, and governance
• Proven background in enterprise content governance, systems, and information architecture
