The Assistant Superintendent oversees the overall safety, budget, schedule, and quality of construction projects from project start through project completion onsite. This position is a crucial contributor to building Henning’s book of business, The Assistant Superintendent is an onsite team leader working with the Superintendent and Project Team to ensure effective management and coordination of assigned jobsite resources toward the common goal of quality and timely delivery of services which exceed customer’s expectations.  Safety ·       Be an advocate for Henning’s safety culture, always doing the right thing, and promote safety of those around you ·       Lead by example in the office and on jobsite by utilizing proper personal protective equipment and following all safety regulations; coach others to do the same ·       Lead required safety meetings and complete appropriate documentation to be in compliance with Henning’s Safety Program ·       Onboard all onsite personnel through Henning’s Safety Orientation Program ·       Monitor and correct safety issues during regular jobsite walks; holding onsite resources accountable to Henning’s Safety Program ·       Complete all OSHA and other specified trainings as directed by Safety Director  Building Relationships ·       Be committed to developing lasting relationships, both internally and externally; maintaining respect and professionalism at all times ·       Build internal relationships to foster open, honest and trustworthy communication across all departments ·       Maintain good working relationships with the community, local, state, and federal Authority Having Jurisdiction. Represent the customer and company in the most professional manner ·       Be an example of Henning’s Core Values, coaching those around you to do the same ·       Own your personal development and contribute to the development of the Henning team including your subcontractor group Focus on End Goals ·       Maintain a team oriented and results driven mentality; we are vital to each other’s success ·       Lead, manage, and complete all projects to ensure the project is completed safely, on-schedule, on-budget, and with quality that conforms to project plans and specifications, and exceeds customer and company expectations ·       Work with project teams to identify potential issues and be actively involved in problem solving ·       Conduct pre-installment meetings to discuss quality of work expected, manufacturer installation guidelines, drawing details, and mock-up. ·       Provide onsite supervision of construction personnel while maintaining respectful and professional communication to ensure project success and conformance to contract documents and specifications ·       Document historical information to include daily reports, photos, punch lists, inspections, RFIs, and safety walks in Procore or other utilized technology ·       Maintain red-lines and as-built drawings, sending to Project Manager at job close-out for permanent file ·       Laydown planning and protection of materials until turnover ·       Provide basic support for all departments as needed, along with other assigned duties Drive Innovation ·       Requires continuous improvement mindset; lead & participate in continuous improvement of processes to eliminate waste and improve customer experience. ·       Utilize the appropriate technology to provide best in class project solutions.  This includes project management software (Procore®) and web-based collaboration tools. ·       Own quality control while work is in progress, holding others accountable to correct deficiencies ·       Drive schedules to meet or exceed project milestones Supervisory Responsibilities ·         Responsible for onsite personnel as related to specific work activities, internal and external  Qualifications ·       3+ years in construction field preferred ·       Valid driver’s license required ·       Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) and DOT medical certificate a plus ·       Knowledge to interpret, direct, and follow up construction drawings and submittals ·       Exceptional communication and effective listening skills ·       Ability to read people and adapt your approach to achieve results ·       Effective contributor and team player, which can plan and organize a team with the capacity to motivate and boost morale ·       Frequent extended stay travel required   Work Environment - While performing the duties of this job, the employee will exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently in a field environment - Constant walking and standing - Frequently expected to perform duties in all ranges of weather conditions - Occasional use of heavy construction equipment - Occasional use of varying types of tools   Henning Companies offer a full benefits package that includes competitive compensation, vehicle allowance, cell phone, and incentives; complete with health, dental, vision, disability, and 401(k) benefits.
